Make Better Patterns for Creating Your Reality

1 March, 2010 (11:45) | Exploring Law of Attraction | By: Lanore

Do you ever wonder why certain themes seem to re-occur in your life? Perhaps you seem to create the same types of relationships with the people you date or you somehow find you’ve replaced one unhealthy friendship with another unhealthy friendship? Or you swap one illness for another? Perhaps you finally overcome one financial hardship only to find yourself immersed in yet another?

As maddening as it is to be reminded, these patterns are of our own making and are a reflection of our habits of thought, feelings, and actions.

For example, last week a friend and I got to talking about a situation in the past where someone had told a lie about us. We re-hashed this event over the phone, in email, discussing it several times during the week. We both justified our egos positions and re-affirmed that we were the ones who’d been done dirt. Oh yes. We really spent some time and energy on it.

Then I forgot all about it.

When I went to work Saturday, looking forward to my day ahead, my boss informed me that one of my customers, whom I don’t even know, had told a tale about me that was completely false. It was so absurdly false, that even my boss couldn’t seriously entertain it for a moment. But I was annoyed and angry that someone would tell a lie about me…what had I done to create this situation I wondered.

I didn’t have to wonder very long before I came to face to face with the ugly truth that I had put all the energy in place to create this scenario during the previous week by going over and over a similar situation from the past. It was simple Law of Attraction at work.

I was so good about letting go of a more upsetting scenario that happened the week before last, yet I turned around and focused on another scenario that I had no desire to re-create! Why do we do this to ourselves? I say “ourselves” because I know I’m not the only one to do it.

The reason we keep repeating these mistakes is nothing more mysterious than habit. I am in the habit of rehashing—my ego likes to be strengthened by asserting my righteousness. But that ego doesn’t give me peace and indulging it certainly doesn’t help me create what I want.

To create what I want, I have to spend more time and energy focusing on things that are like what I want, than on things I don’t want. That’s not what I did last week.

Half the battle of changing our behavior patterns is to simply be aware of them. And to remember to check our vibration from time to time during the day.

I know people who set the alarms on their cell phones to remind them of things during the day. They use different ringtones for different appointments. I use Google calendar to remind myself of different events during my day. Use any tools available to reset your patterns to create more preferable reality. Set them to remind you daily to check your vibration or to remind you it’s time for a rant of gratitude for your prosperity, your relationships, your good health, or whatever else you’re trying to reinforce or create in your experience.

Using technology to help you change a pattern of vibration may provide exactly the reminder you need to change an unwanted pattern in your creations.
