Current Circumstances: Reflections of the Past
Look around yourself. Notice your physical surroundings; think about your relationships, your activities; think about your prosperity, your health; think about you job, your home, and family. Consider the feelings each of these subjects evokes in you. Are you joyful about any of these areas? Are you worried, fearful? Are you satisfied with any of these areas? Are there circumstances you’d like to change regarding any of these subject matters?
Maybe you don’t have enough money or your relationship with your significant other is turbulent. Perhaps your initial response is a desire to engage in some sort of activity or behavior that will improve the situation. This is the most common reaction we have to most problems that manifest on the physical plane. We are action-oriented beings, having been raised in a culture that values action above more cerebral behaviors. But the urge to jump into action is a backward response. When you respond to current circumstances, especially chronic ones, with controlling behavior it’s about as effective as applying makeup to the mirror instead of your face when putting on your face. The results will only be superficial and won’t be observable in practical terms.
The current situation you are observing is a reflection of the past, and at its foundation it is a manifestation of the vibrations of the past. The most effective way to create change in the observed manifestation is, of course, to change your vibration regarding the particular subject matter you are observing. This doesn’t mean you have to tease out your past vibration of something based on your current observations. Rather, you simply have to offer a vibration that is in tune with what you want now. If you aren’t sure of the specifics of what you want, decide on and focus on how you want to feel about a particular subject matter. Allow yourself to relax, breathe, and mentally create and enjoy the feelings you intend to have about a subject. Allow images, music, or soothing words to come into your mind; enjoy them briefly, then open your eyes and let it go. Focus on something that will take your mind off the current situation you’ve decided to change. If the subject drifts into your awareness at a later time, remind yourself about the decision you made about how you’re going to feel about it, and let it go. Keep letting it go and don’t allow yourself to indulge in any kind of worry or controlling behavior about it.
The firmness of your decision will enhance your ability to relax about the subject and for you to take the right action when the time for action arises. You’ll see less and less recurrence of the undesirable circumstances and more and more of that which you prefer.
